The Advocate
Shonda Gilyard is a National Board-Certified Advocate in Special Education. Ms. Gilyard believes education is a never-ending process and all students can learn, including those students with disabilities. A strong support team is needed to help provide the best education for those students with disabilities is also her belief.

Ms. Gilyard is disciplined, organized and concise. She is compassionate about the education of students with special needs. Her compassion has grown out of a foundation built over a combined 31 years of experience in education. Ms. Gilyard’s experiences include general and special education teacher, lead teacher, program coordinator, contact teacher, preschool teacher, PBIS Coach and A.S.P.I.R.E. Trainer. Ms. Gilyard obtained a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education/Special Education, Master of Education in Early Childhood Education, Reading Endorsement, and a Specialist of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Mercer University.
As an educator, she saw the need for advocacy for students with disabilities. Upon retirement, the birth of a vision called Innovative Informative Service, L.L.C. was created to help meet those needs. Through the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET), Ms. Gilyard met the requirements for the Board-Certified Advocate in Special Education (B.C.A.S.E.). She is a competent professional special education advocate and consultant who is committed to excellence.
